Date set Caravan & Motorhome Club’s National event

The Caravan & Motorhome Club will host its hugely popular annual National event during the late May Bank Holiday, from 25 to 29 May, at the Sledmere House stately home in Driffield, Yorkshire.

Open to the general public alike, the National is one of the Club’s key events of the year and offers four days of fun and games for all ages.  Daytime activities include baking, crafting, wine making, team sports and plenty of adventurous pursuits such as hover archery, zip wires and even a ninja assault course!

In the evening, guests will be spoiled for choice when the Adria Entertainment Marquee features live performances from Queen, Elvis and American Divas tribute acts, plus the Club Band will be performing a special concert in honour of their silver anniversary.

Day and evening passes are available from just £5 per adult.  The National will be open to non-residential visitors from 10am to 11pm, while members can stay for the whole long weekend from just £98 per pitch, including electric hook-up.  Members are welcome to arrive to set up their pitch from 8am on Friday 25 or Saturday 26 May.  The entertainment can be booked with the pitch or bought separately from the Club shop.

Visitors to the 2018 National will also be special guests of Sledmere House and can enjoy both the house and its impressive grounds designed by Capability Brown.  They can also take advantage of the Club’s National Wanderer CycleFest on Sunday 27 May as well.  Accredited by British Cycling and supported by Raleigh and Maxxis, CycleFest is designed for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy cycling.  The event offers two challenging sportive routes, a relaxed family ride and a cycling village with lots to see and do.

“The National is one of the most exciting events in the Club’s calendar and we’re delighted to this year be hosting it at one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful stately homes,” Harvey Alexander, Director of Marketing at the Caravan & Motorhome Club, said.  “We look forward to welcoming both new faces with our day and evening places, and members who stay for the whole weekend – there will be more than enough happening to entertain everyone, whatever their age or interest.”
